La Catrina started with a dream, and a churro cart. In 2013, we launched on Sparks Street with one goal: to share the joy of authentic Mexican street food with Ottawa.

What began as crispy, golden churros quickly grew into something bigger. We brought our flavours to festivals, weddings, and private events. In 2017, we opened Ottawa’s first churrería in the ByWard Market, serving fresh churros and Mexican treats to a growing community of food lovers.

By 2023, we were on the road with our full-service food truck. And in 2025, we found our forever home: a new location where we serve a full menu of traditional Mexican street food, made with love, family recipes, and simple, quality ingredients.

From small beginnings to big events, our story is still being written, one churro at a time.
